Hoopenburg Chardonnay 2019
The playful Chardonnay has a light straw colour. A symphony of stone fruit aromas is complimented by hints of fresh lime. Concentrated flavours of pineapple and grape fruit further excite the palate. Delicious to drink now.
The origin of these grapes stems from the 13 year old vineyard around the cellar. Harvesting took place by hand at 23.5° balling in the cool of the morning. Without crushing or destemming, three hour long pressing took place, followed by fermentation for three weeks in stainless steel tanks. The wine was racked and allowed to age for twelve months on the fine lees, where after light filtration preceded bottling.
This crispy and fresh palatable wine pairs well with a variety of light meals (e.g. ham) and salads. Perfect companion for a sunny day and a cheese platter.
